Mission and Submitting Articles to FiftyPlus-Talks
The mission of FiftyPlus-Talks is to provide a forum for anyone over the age of 50 who has something to say about their life as a work in progress!
I am contacting people who are over fifty to recruit interesting life-event writing from a variety of venues. If you or anyone you know might be interested in contributing, please let them and me know!
All submissions will be carefully screened before publication to ensure that the subject matter is appropriate and the length is not too long. We will offer the opportunity for people whose articles are published to link to their website, email, or bio if so desired.
Your Privacy
No personally identifiable information (i.e. e-mail addresses of newsletter subscribers) will be intentionally shared with any 3rd party unless, we believe, in good faith, that such release is necessary to:
- Comply with the law
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of FiftyPlus-talks.org, our visitors, or the public.
Why Contribute?
With
each article I read in the many publications
designed to support the over 50 crowd, I wonder why the “50”s have become the operative number and not “over 60” or “over 70”.
When I started this website, my intent
was to entice stories, thoughts, and
creativity from ALL generations over
50 without a cap or limit on age….and then I thought about it….there
aren’t as many over the age of 60, 70, or 80 who are as computer savvy
as we youngsters in their 50s—(and the baby boomers have started reaching
60!) it's up to the 'younger' folks, to become the transcribers for
the older decades and send me their stories!
There is so much to tell and document,
and so much to learn, and I live with
the regret of not documenting my own
grandparents’ life stories.
